We Cook We Burn – Episode 9: Got Beef? Let It Stew!

Welcome to the ninth episode of “We Cook We Burn,” where we tackle the culinary challenges and joys of cooking. In this episode, we’re diving into the world of beef stews. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or a home cook, beef stews are a hearty and delicious dish that can be enjoyed by all.

Ingredients

For a perfect beef stew, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 4 cups of beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups of potatoes, cubed
  • 1 cup of peas

Instructions

Follow these steps to make a delicious beef stew:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes and brown them on all sides. Remove the beef and set it aside.
  2. Add the chopped onion and carrots to the pot. Cook until the onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Return the beef to the pot. Add the beef broth, tomato paste, bay leaves, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the stew simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  6. Add the potatoes and continue to cook until they are tender, about 20 minutes.
  7. Stir in the peas and cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Remove the bay leaves before serving. Enjoy your beef stew hot!
